Siberian Forest Cats
Imagine coming home to a cat that greets you at the door, follows you from room to room and settles nearby while you get on with your day. Many Siberian owners will recognise that lovely sense of having a little companion who likes to know what everyone is doing.
Originally from the forests of Russia, Siberians are a natural breed known for their sturdy build, beautiful triple coats and affectionate nature. They often enjoy being part of family life, whether that means investigating a shopping bag, chasing a favourite toy or finding a comfortable spot beside you.
They have a playful, curious side too. Somewhere to climb, something to scratch and a little time playing together each day will give them plenty to enjoy. Their thick coats change with the seasons, so gentle brushing is part of the routine—and introducing it early helps make it familiar.
Of course, every Siberian is their own little character. Some are bold explorers who want to be in the middle of everything; others like to take their time and watch before joining in. Getting to know those personalities is one of our favourite parts of raising kittens, and we’re happy to share what we notice as they grow.

Allergies and Siberians
If you’ve been drawn to Siberians because someone in your household has cat allergies, you’re welcome to talk with us about this when you enquire.
Some people find they tolerate Siberians better than other cats, but no cat is completely hypoallergenic. Allergen levels and individual reactions can vary considerably.
Visits are available by appointment. Spending time with our cats may give you useful personal experience, although it cannot guarantee future tolerance once a kitten is living in your home. Where reactions are significant, advice from an allergy specialist is recommended.
About Us
Life at Lapochka includes little paws exploring, toys being chased and kittens finding their favourite places to curl up. Our kittens are raised indoors in our home, where gentle handling and everyday household routines are part of growing up.
Along the way, they become familiar with household sounds, grooming, scratching posts and regular care. They are litter trained before joining their new families.
We’re registered breeders with the Queensland Feline Association. Getting to know each kitten is one of the parts we enjoy most, and we’re happy to share our observations about their confidence, playfulness and sociability as you consider the right companion for your household.
We also want you to feel comfortable and prepared. Our Welcome Guide introduces the breed and explains what to expect, while our Homecoming and Care Guide helps you get ready with the familiar food, litter and routines your kitten already knows.
You’re welcome to ask questions along the way—and to stay in touch after homecoming. Visits to our home in Burpengary are available by appointment.
Welcoming Your Kitten
Bringing a kitten home is an exciting time, and we’re here to help you feel prepared. Before homecoming, we’ll share our care guide and the familiar food, litter and routines that can help your kitten settle in.
Our kittens usually join their new families at approximately 12 weeks of age. By then, they are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed, as well as litter trained and introduced to scratching posts.
When your kitten comes home, you’ll receive their veterinary records, care information and a kitten pack containing toys and food samples. Their pedigree papers follow separately after QFA litter registration is complete and we have received the papers.
You can collect your kitten from our home in Burpengary, or we can arrange transport throughout Australia. We’ll discuss the arrangements with you and confirm any transport costs before booking.
Our support continues after homecoming, so you’re always welcome to get in touch with questions or share a little update. We love hearing how our kittens are getting on with their new families.
